Always Awesome

I've been about 6 or 7 times now and each time my entire party has had a great experience. Compared to most "Pubs" in the city it is beautiful inside, very clean and new. The food has always been very good, to the point where someone has made a comment that they really liked their dish, it wasnt just average. I've been a few times with my two daughters too, and they have always been great in accomodating us with a pre-made bag of puzzles, crayons etc... and the staff took the time to speak with them. I would strongly recomend the Beaver & BD

5 of about 7 times, the restaurant was...

5 of about 7 times, the restaurant was ridiculously cold. And I don't often complain. Still shivering after putting on my thick hoodie. Is that an attempt to get us in to eat, then kick us out fast to free up tables for the non-existent lineup? The waitresses are usually formal, and as quick as they can. Haven't had one forget an order yet. However, a few men who seem to be the owners (always going to the back - dressed casually - not serving - but seem to have some kind of bar/restaurant control) were loud and a bit obnoxious. Not cool. They've been in there for a few times of the 7. Get's annoying,so please find something to do so it doesn't seem like we're sharing a table at your backyard BBQ. The wings? Well they're fantastic - it's just a complete shame they've chopped more than half of their flavours to stick with the regulars: honey garlic, hot, suicide, dry cajun, etc. The wings are a great size too. One pound of Exorcist wings and you'll be wanting 3 or 4 pints of cold beer. Overall a good experience, just inconsistent temperatures.

I'd Rather Eat at McDonald's

This was the 4th visit and the first was good and enjoyable with my co-workers. The 2nd wasn't bad, but slow service and the food was okay. The 3rd wasn't too bad, but the wings were soggy, the service was really slow again. The 4th time was bad, I was really trying to have an open mind but right from the time I sat down, I started to regret going in. After more than 25 min. and watching the staff stand around chatting, I was getting frustrated with our server who kept telling us the food was coming. Once the food did come, my wings were horrible, cold and sponge-like, and I asked the server to take them, she offered to get some fresh wings and it would take long at all, but I asked why did mine take almost a half hour and my husbands Cobb salad was somewhat edible, and my daughters pasta was tasteless. There was no way I was going to try another dish, even when the manager came over to try and appologize (didn't do a very good job at it) I make sure I let my friends know what they are in for when they go there, and I get the same review from them--not a good place to go. My daughter was embarassed because of our complaint, but once we explained that when you purchase a product with your hard earned money, you want to get your money's worth, she agreed that it was not a good experience.

Good patio + good friends = no stress

We ordered apps and beer and sat on the patio until midnight, enjoying the summer evening and the company. But, there's not much here to write home about. It's a nice patio - with a happening vibe after 10pm on Friday night. The patio faces onto Hespler Rd, but you're far enough away from the traffic that all you hear is a background hum. The "English style nachos" were funny - deep fried potato slices covered in cheese and peppers. Not bad, but not great either. Cambridge (and KW!) seem to be patio-challenged, so I'd visit again - but only for the patio. And the beer!
