Every weekend we take the kids out for a meal at McDonald’s in Aylmer Ontario to give us a break from cooking. They are always very pleasant, friendly, and quick. We placed an order in the drive through and it turned out to be wrong. We went in to get what we were missing and the staff was amazing! They apologized, gave us our food and the manager gave us a full refund for the inconvenience. Now that is service!! Thank you!! Kathryn

I moved to Woodstock almost a year ago and I had heard great things about this place but had not gone until this past Saturday. Let me tell you the food was amazing. They have perfected the art of perfectly battered fish and fresh hand cut fries.
You can't go wrong. Place is pretty basic, but you're not really there for atmosphere. You are there for the delicious fish and chips, and that's exactly what you get.

We have come every year in December from Hamilton to Simcoe to see the Christmas lights. We stop at the Barrel Restaurant first, and it is a highlight of our trip: excellent food, excellent atmosphere. There is a very large menu, so I know people can order what they want and sometimes get something different from what they want. Suffice to say that I find the Penne Capri on par with meals served in Italy, and my husband and in-laws refuse to order anything other than the lasagna because they enjoy it so much every time. Good work once again!

A friend gave us a couple of gift certificates for Dino's so we decided to go there for dinner. We got there around 5:30pm and were promptly seated. It was not that busy for a Monday evening. We ordered our drinks and the rib & wing combos. The combos included a choice of side ceasar or house salad or house soup. We got one of each of the salads and they were very good. The ceasar salad had real bacon bits and shredded parmasaen cheese on top. We got the house Jack Daniels BBQ sauce on the ribs & wings and it was AWESOME!!! The wings were decent sized and there was lots of meat on the ribs.... which fell right off the bone! The combo also included a small portion of veggies and choice of potato..(we got fries and sweet-potato fries). The desserts were ok.... the turtle cheese cake was a bit small but tasted good. The chocolate avalanche would have been better with brownie instead of chocolate cake. The waitress was very nice and checked on us a few times and refilled our drinks. We'll definitely be going back!!!

July 22 had an 86 th birthday dinner. I only now saw the bill I was having a problem with the card machine. Our server was the best I have ever been fortunate enough to meet. Her name was Christina. We loved her. Here is my big problem. I did not put the correct tip on the bill. I feel terrible. She deserved so much more. Please tell her I will write a poem for her but that doesn’t make up for my error. She is the best. ???

Christien's restaurant was a very fun experience. The food and service were both better then expected for the volume of customers there on a friday night (may 25). We made reservation and got exactly what we asked for. Service was prompt and startes made it the table less then 15 minutes after ordering. excellent value and good home-style food. Don't come here looking for fine-dining ambience, it's excellent though for family-style meals. Portions quite generous. We had a table of 6 and were seated in the back near two large groups so it was a bit noisy but that's what our family's style often is anyway! Lots of parking, easy to find.
