Spent an evening with Culinaria @Elliott House. Food was amazing and service was top. I recommend this establishment to anyone looking for the best dining in Mississauga.
Food was fantastic. Started with the calamari and the escargot, the calamari was one of the best we have ever had, it was cooked to perfection. The escargot was cooked in a phyllo pastry, the presentation and taste were both above average. For the main entre, the best was the lamb chops, 2 lamb lovers ordered it and both thought it was one of the best lamb dishes they had ever had. The other entre that was above average was the seafood dish, lobster, shrimp and scallops. Again the presentation and the taste was fantastic. We had a great time and will all return again in the very near future......
Food was really good and the wait staff were very attentive.
We just had my daughters baptism party here on the weekend and we were very impressed with the food and the service. I had the chicken and it was FANTASTIC! I loved the atmosphere as well.
I had been to the Elliot house on several occasion over the past years and it is slowly going "downhill" The manager seems apathetic and rude to his staff which made diners uncomfortable. I would NOT recommend to go here for a relaxing evening!!!
On March 28th 2009 we had our wedding at The Elliott House. We were married in front of the fireplace in the main foyer. There were approximately 65 people in attendance. After the service the staff walked around and offered appetizers to our guests while they had some refreshments. We then proceeded to sit down and order our meals. We had it arranged that the guest could choose from a small menu that was at each seating. Mike and the staff at The Elliott House could not have done a better job. Our guests have not stopped talking about the excellant food as well as the excellant service. Ourselves and some friends are already planning to go for dinner and take advantage of the fabulous Saturday night special. We have definately found our new favourite restaurant. A great many thanks to Mike and the Staff for making our day more memorable.
I took my family here for my mother's 70th birthday, and we had a fantastic time. Our server was very helpful with my wine selection, which I appreciated, as not many restaurants have knowledgeable staff when it comes to wine anymore. They were also very helpful with my mother's dietary restrictions, as she is a diabetic, essentially making her something off the menu that was sensational. All in all, we had a wonderful night, it was the perfect place to celebrate this joyous milestone.
As a traveling sales man I have the opportunity to eat at many restaurants in different parts of the North America, some memorable for good reasons others for the not so good. I always make a point of returning to the places that have left the best impression on my pallet and I choose to bring clients with me to experience the same. There are a few reasons that I choose to return to the Elliott House Restaurant. The menu has a terrific balance and variety and my clients always ask what I would recommend from the menu and my response is “Anything” as no matter what I’ve ordered the Elliott House has always been spot-on with flavor, presentation and not to mention a terrific choice of wines. Having such an incredible restaurant right in my own backyard so to speak, gives me the pleasure of entertaining important clients as well as treating my own family to a fabulous night out! Signed….a loyal and grateful patron.
This is the best restaurant I have been to in many years. I was celebrating a family birthday and attended on the $35 Saturday night offering the Elliott House has this spring. I couldn't believe how spectacular it was. The best Filet mignon around. The service was amazing. If you want great dining at a great value....give the Elliott House a try.
food was nothing special. They could really upgrade the menu and the atmosphere. the service was slow, and we were disappointed with the main courses. would not visit again or recommend to others.
I was looking forward to giving my review on the Elliott House but i was taken aback by a review just before i wrote this. They could not have been at the same restaurant as i had just been at, Upon arrival the outside was lite up with the most impressive christmas lights i have seen in some time. We were greeted professionally and taken to a private room we have booked for our group of 20, The meal was to die for, not only were the tastes unbelievable but the presentation was spectacular. Again i started this review to let you know what a positive dining experience i had. the previous review has to be a mistake, because it is certainly not reflective of my overall dining experience.
The first impression we got upon arriving is that they should consider revamping the landscaping, as it looks quite industrial and uninviting. Perhaps they should make arrangements to have their garbage disposal service increased a notch. There was garbage piled high beside the dumpster in the parking lot! The wine list was a little generic and grossly overpriced. Our steak was overdone and the caesar salad overdressed and soggy! This place should have atmosphere with the history of the building, but something seems to be missing. When we voiced our opinion about our being disappointed with the overall dining experience, the server seemed flustered and did not offer to have a manager speak to us. We asked for a manager and were told that he had stepped out to the liquor store (?) and would be back shortly. We were graciously offered free coffee!!!! Well, who could refuse that??? We courteously took one sip of our coffee which tasted like boiled toothpicks and promptly asked for the bill. Needless to say, we will never dine here again.
Recommend you pass on this place. It looks like a nice restaurant to spend sometime and cash however it is a very basic old building with a food court level cook. Not happy
Best valentine's dinner ever! The food was tasty, the flavours were well matched and creatively plated. Best lamb I've ever had.
I am not sure where to start with my review, but I will try to sum it up with one word "incredible". Service, food, ambiance. I have been visiting this restaurant for several years, and have watched the transformation from the old owner to the new owner. he has left nothing untouched, redecorating, menu , new chef un believable. It is possibly the best restauarnt I have been too.....and I have seen many. My ha goes off to them, and they will see me more often.
My best friend got married and the reception was held at Elliot House. It was fantastic! I love food! I tried a bite of all 5 appetizer options and all 5 entree options! All were wonderful! My husband and I hope to go back soon.
We have been driving by this estabishment for many years and after having experienced disappointing service at one of our favourite restaurants we decided to stop and give Elliot House a try.........WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL EVENIG, every thing was great the ambiance, service and the food was absolutely wonderful. The only thing that we had that we did not think was really that great was the pumpkin cheese cake, not alot of flavour to it, however this could just be our personal preference and the coffee is not the best. However the dinner was wonderful, Chicken Supreme is so tasty, and the presentation of the food was lovely, fresh vegetables, nice bread, excellent soup and mussels......we will definetly be returning in the near future. This was food that was prepared by a experienced chef, not just a cook. Thank you for a wonderful evening!!!
I brought my girlfriend in for a romantic night out. We were greeted in a 200 year old home converted to a Restaurant as well as Culinary College. I must tell you we were blown away by our experience. The owner David came to the door himself to greet us and he even hung our coats. Mike the server seated us and gave us one of the most enjotable experiences ever. The food was out of this world, not only did it taste great I looked like ART. My girlfriend and I have food a Diamond in the Ruff, she might have been hoping for one herself, but that will follow later. I must recomend this place...truly unbelievable!!
I couldnt wait to review this restaurant. They are a one of a kind. Generally i hold business dinners in a hotel setting, but I got tired of that. I had several personal outings previously at the Elliott House and this was my first business occassion. I was blown away that they could create a private menu with 5 very different selections, and provide a food quality that is just out of this world. The presentation was a piece of art,. I brought 65 clients & employees and they too were floored by this magnificent dining experience. I have looked to see if they have been reviewed but couldnt find anything. They should recieve 5 stars for their efforts. I will return again and again and again If you go, ask for the owner David; what a great host. Best outing ever. G
I've been waiting for a hidden gem like this one, I was very impressed and will be back soon.
