I am the owner of a large Estate Sale Company in the Ottawa area, and our organization has been making use of Janets services regularly for almost a decade. She is always punctual, communicative, and is far-and-away the most knowledgable/qualified appraiser we have encountered. Highly recommended!
Do not use this appraiser. She was not reliable from the start as she cancelled booked appointments twice. She was difficult to contact and have any correspondence with, after the appraisal was done and paid in full, she would not provide any paperwork of her opinion or appraisal on the items she examined. I have e-mailed her several times to ask for paperwork of the appraisal and have not received anything. Total waste of time and money.
Two appointments were rescheduled due to snow. You, the owner of the objects were not present.I specifically asked the woman there if a written appraisal was required- twice. Both times the response was, no. I suggested she write down what I was saying. Two pieces of art were interesting and I said I would look further into them, which I did. I provided you with the background of the artist and the value of the art. If you had wanted a written appraisal at the outset you should have said so.
